Covid-19 Working through - Property Showing Policy

Dear Homeowners,

This has been an unprecedented time as a result of COVID-19. There is no shortage of questions surrounding COVID-19 and how it has the potential to touch all aspects of our lives – personally and professionally. We are implementing protocols when showing homes to buyers and speaking to agents who are showing our listings. Hopefully this post will help you understand what we at The Get Moore results team of RE/MAX Hallmark CHAY are doing to keep all our clients and families safe at this time and in this difficult situation. All our agents and staff have business continuity plans in place to ensure they can continue to meet your needs even in times of disruption such as this. Our staff and agents have been told to work from home and to self-quarantine should they be feeling ill or feel that have been exposed or if they have recently traveled. We all have access to DocuSign, a digital signature program, and they are happy to have meetings remotely. We have the technology in place to accommodate fewer in person meetings, as required.


We will be reminding and asking questions of all the Realtors showing your home. Hygienic measures will be taken to help limit the spread of disease. If your home is for sale with us and you do not have access to disposable wipes please reach out to us and we will do our best to try to supply you some for your home. We will be asking visitors and their agents to wash hands and to ask those who are ill to or who have recently traveled to reschedule. We also recommend our homeowners to increase surface cleaning in high traffic areas of your home. Leave lights on for showings (per the norm). We will tell the viewers not to touch them and not to turn the lights off. We can also provide you a sign to ask visitors to please wash hands before showing. Ensure you have soap, disposable towels and garbage bin handy. Our agents will speak to all visitors and ask the agents to follow this protocol. If you feel your family is ill or been exposed, please let us know immediately and we will suspend viewings right away.


Agents will ask their Buyers to drive in separate cars to meet for showings and to keep social distancing during interactions. The Agents will be asked to use a wipe to open any cupboards if necessary, for their buyers which will enable us to ensure things are left sanitized.

 We feel our process is to be rational in the face of uncertainty. There are multiple outcomes that are possible. It’s an interesting time. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and your families, and know that even if we must keep a safe distance, we’ll be better off.
